Opening a factory

Factory construction requires earned rank tier 6. The first factory costs $100,000; the next price doubles according to your current factory count. A factory produces only one product at a time.

The catalogue lists timings and certificate prices for textiles, furniture, food, cosmetics, technology, automotive and construction products. You must buy a product's permanent certificate before manufacturing it.

Certificates and batch costs are different

A certificate is purchased once, not for every batch, and can be paid for with cash or diamonds. Technology and automotive certificates have a category multiplier of 4; that multiplier applies to the certificate cost.

The base cash production charge is one fifth of the product's base price. An applicable holding workshop discount can reduce this base, and the shared market tier changes the current cash production charge. Inputs and labour must also be included.

Inputs, time and capacity

Technology and automotive production consume one nanomaterial per unit; other factory groups use one raw material. Many early products take a base 6 hours and advanced products 10 hours; check the product card for the exact time.

Base factory capacity is 250. Capacity items, applicable holding and home effects, factory level and staff capacity are added to it. Speed effects alter time, while production bonuses alter final yield.

Levels, staff and maintenance

Factory levels 1–3 add 0, 100 and 250 capacity, with staff limits of 2, 4 and 6. Upgrading to level 2 costs $100,000; level 3 costs $300,000. Each worker adds 25 capacity, costs $1,000 to recruit and earns $3 per production hour.

Production reduces condition. Below 60 condition, up to 10% extra production time is added. Maintenance cost depends on missing condition points and factory level. Management changes require the factory to be idle.

Waste, reports and safe collection

Factory waste ranges from 2% to 16% and is influenced by market supply. VIP, active production boosts and an applicable holding brand bonus can increase final yield. Batch reports show costs, labour, waste and quantities received.

A batch that does not fit during bulk collection remains waiting. Individual factory collection takes only the amount that fits, and excess output may be lost. Check warehouse space especially carefully before collecting individually. Total batch cost and the quantity actually received determine the useful unit cost.

Closing the facility

Factories are liquidated from the most recently built first in the Tax Office's facility-closure section. The factory must be empty; ongoing or uncollected production prevents closure.

The refund is 75% of the corresponding opening-cost tier. Upgrades, staff, maintenance and certificate expenses are excluded from this facility refund. Review the amount on the closure screen before deciding.
