Market and wholesaler

The player market, system supply and wholesaler purchasing are different sides of the same economy. They share a market tier, but their buying and selling prices need not match.

City markets and listings

Markets are city-based. You buy in your current city and list stock from its warehouse. Posting a listing requires earned rank tier 4. Listed items leave the warehouse; cancelling returns them and requires storage space.

The system supplies normal products without a stock limit, excluding laboratory packages. The base player-market sales tax is 10%, with accounting training and an applicable city effect able to change the actual rate. The seller receives the amount after tax.

Base price, system price and listing limits

For normal products, tier-1 system selling price is 50% of base price. The player listing floor is 20% of base price, while the ceiling follows the current system-price reference. Laboratory packages are not sold by the system, but their listing limits are still calculated from their own base values.

For a product with a $100 base price, tier-1 system price is $50 and the listing floor is $20. At tier 4, system price and the listing ceiling become $65, while the base price and $20 floor remain unchanged.

The shared hourly market

The wholesaler and market use the same hourly market state. It renews each hour, excluding the current tier from the next draw. Lower tiers have greater selection weight, while the most expensive tiers have lower weight.

Tier 1 is the reference. Tier 0 applies a 10% reduction; tiers 2–8 apply increases of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 70%. This changes normal system purchases, factory cash production costs and player listing ceilings. Base product prices, base business shelf prices and listing floors do not change.

Selection weights for tiers 0–8 are 5, 28, 23, 17, 12, 7, 5, 2 and 1 respectively. These are not fixed hourly percentages: the previous tier is removed and the draw uses the remaining weights.

What the nine tiers mean

Colours move from green at the bottom to red at high prices. “Avoid selling” is market guidance, not a rule disabling the sell button. Compare it with your own costs before deciding.

  • 0: Rock-bottom prices! Buying opportunity. Avoid selling!
  • 1: Very low prices! Time to buy. Avoid selling!
  • 2: The market is steady. Avoid selling!
  • 3: Active market. Avoid selling!
  • 4: Balanced market. Undecided!
  • 5: Cautious market. Undecided!
  • 6: Prices have risen. Time to sell!
  • 7: Price bubble! Time to sell!
  • 8: Inflation is sky-high! Time to sell!

Seeds, feed and industrial inputs

Seeds, feed, raw materials and nanomaterials are exempt from the hourly tier multiplier. They use their own price bands and a 4-hour update cycle. You buy them or receive them through eligible rewards rather than producing them.

Current system price bands are $0.20–0.40 for seeds, $0.50–0.80 for feed, $1.50–3.00 for raw materials and $4–8 for nanomaterials. Their listing floor is half the bottom of the band, and the ceiling is the current system price. These items also use warehouse capacity.

Sending goods to the wholesaler

The wholesaler quotes a price for eligible stock shipped in your own available truck. Quantity cannot exceed its capacity, and the truck must not be travelling or listed for sale. Packaged laboratory products are not accepted.

The trip takes 2 hours and covers 2,000 km. Goods leave the warehouse at departure; the sale amount is locked then and paid on return. Later market changes do not alter that amount. This goods sale receives no extra VIP driving premium or logistics skill progress.

One tier, different quotes

The wholesaler's buying price uses a separate scale between the tier-1 listing floor and half the tier-1 listing ceiling. For normal products, tier 0 quotes 10% below the tier-1 wholesaler offer; basic inputs are exempt from that extra reduction.

The market's system selling price is therefore different from what the wholesaler pays you. Consider the tier label, quoted unit price, trip duration and alternative business sales together. Do not sell based solely on the tier's name when the unit price is poor.
